Kayla Renee Lindsay is a theatre artist who specializes in directing, intimacy choreography, and costume design. She sees the opportunity to cultivate conversation through live performance, in small details and in the overall picture. She begins these conversations in the rehearsal room and at the production table, with the aim that they continue on long after the audience has left the theater.
About Me
After graduating with a degree in theatre arts from Flagler College, I spent several years working on costumes in three different states. I graduated with my MFA in Theatre Arts with a focus in directing through the University of Idaho. Through this program and my own self-study, I am working to hone my craft and create new magic on stage using consent-based, trauma-responsive, and accessible theatre practices.
You can currently find me working with Glass Elevator (founding artistic member) and Cherokee Street Theatre Co. (founding member and costume designer) regularly. I also frequently work with other local St. Louis theatre companies as a director, intimacy choreographer, teaching artist, and designer.
If you are looking for someone who likes to challenge people to grow in a supportive and secure environment using adaptive processes and boundary practices to promote creativity—please reach out to me. I currently live in St. Louis, Missouri, but am willing to travel for aligning projects.
